Jalen Johnson scored a career-high 41 points to lead his Atlanta Hawks to a thrilling 142-134 double-overtime victory over the host Philadelphia 76ers in a fiery NBA game last night. Johnson wasn't the only star for Atlanta, as Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 34 points, and Dyson Daniels added 17 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Despite the absence of stars Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis, the Hawks showed exceptional resilience led by Johnson, who also had 14 rebounds and 7 assists. On the other side, Tyrese Maxey starred for Philadelphia with 44 points and 9 assists, while Quentin Grimes scored 28 points, and Joel Embiid, returning from injury, only managed 18 points and 4 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. The game witnessed dramatic moments, most notably Maxey missing two free throws with 4.6 seconds left in the first overtime, allowing Johnson to seize the opportunity and force a second overtime by scoring two crucial free throws, before ending the game with two killer three-pointers.
