Arab Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The competent authorities in Marib closed seven pharmaceutical companies in the governorate center, "after it was proven that they violated the instructions issued by the Authority regarding the new drug price list, which was recently reduced in proportion to the improvement in the value of the national currency." The Director-General of the Authority's branch, Dr. Adel Al-Qarda'i, indicated that the field inspection teams monitored violations in a number of branches of pharmaceutical companies in the governorate that did not comply with the instructions and circulars issued by the Authority, or inventory their stock at pharmaceutical facilities, which necessitated urgent intervention and the taking of strict measures to close them until further notice. Al-Qarda'i confirmed that the process of monitoring the pharmaceutical market in the governorate is ongoing, to control drug prices and ensure strict adherence to the reduced price list, "and we will deal firmly with any party that tries to manipulate prices or exploit the needs of patients in light of the difficult economic conditions suffered by citizens." The director of the Authority's branch in Marib vowed to take deterrent measures against violators from pharmaceutical companies, importers, distributors, and pharmacies, including closure and permanent withdrawal of licenses granted to them.
