Yemen: Agricultural projects worth 263 million riyals handed over in Wadi Emad, Shabwa

Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Wadi Amad in the Habban District of Shabwa Governorate witnessed today, Saturday, the handover of a number of agricultural projects implemented within the community contracting program of the Public Works Project, as part of the project to respond to enhancing food security in Yemen, funded by the World Bank in partnership with the United Nations Development Program, at a total cost of 263 million riyals. The projects included the rehabilitation of a number of irrigation canals in the lower Wadi Amad, namely: Al-Muhaddath, Balkhadar, Bin La'ma, Al-Qafala, and Al-Jadban, in addition to the construction of protection defenses for agricultural lands. The Director-General of the Sub-Regional Office of the Public Works Project, Engineer Mohsen Humaid, affirmed the project's keenness to support agricultural communities and enhance their food security and the sustainability of their resources. The Director-General of Habban District, Muhammad Mushfir, pointed out the importance of these projects in supporting the agricultural infrastructure in the valley.
