Saudi Arabia: Two citizens executed after being convicted of "terrorist crimes."

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the execution of two individuals convicted of committing terrorist crimes, after a ruling was issued confirming the charges against them. The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that "Abdulrahim bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Khurmani and Turki bin Hilal bin Sanad Al-Mutairi - both of Saudi nationality - committed a number of terrorist crimes, including joining a terrorist organization, shooting at security men inside the country with the intent to kill, manufacturing and possessing explosives, and financing and supporting terrorist acts." The statement added: "The security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned individuals, and the investigation with them resulted in charging them with committing those crimes. After referring them to the competent court, a ruling was issued against them confirming the charges against them and sentencing them to death by discretionary punishment (Ta'zir). The ruling became final after its confirmation by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to implement what was decided according to Sharia law." It also confirmed that: "The death sentence by discretionary punishment (Ta'zir) was carried out against Abdulrahim bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Khurmani and Turki bin Hilal bin Sanad Al-Mutairi - both of Saudi nationality - on Monday, 10/2/1447 AH, corresponding to 8/4/2025 AD, in the Makkah region." The Ministry of Interior stressed "the keenness of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to establish security, achieve justice, and implement the provisions of Islamic Sharia against anyone who attacks the safe, sheds their blood, and violates their sanctity, life, and security, and at the same time warns anyone who dares to commit such acts that the legal punishment will be their fate."
