Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Seven young people from Al-Mamdarah neighborhood in Sheikh Othman district died while swimming this morning, Friday, on the shores of "Goldmoor" beach in Al-Tawahi district, east of Aden district. The ages of the deceased youth range between 15 and 25 years. According to citizens and eyewitnesses, they were swimming normally before being swept away by strong sea currents resulting from the disturbance of the sea, and they were unable to keep up with them or swim against them despite their repeated calls for help. Citizens and a number of friends of the drowned youth added that they were hearing the calls for help from their colleagues and actually tried to save them, but the strength of the sea currents prevented them from reaching them. The search for the bodies of the deceased is still ongoing, amid sadness that has prevailed over the Al-Mamdarah neighborhood in Sheikh Othman, according to "Al-Nidaa". The coasts of Aden city lack the basics of protection and marine safety and rescue equipment, in light of the large influx to the beaches as a result of the extreme heat in the summer season in Aden, and the continuous power outages in the city. Days ago, the Coast Guard warned of the dangers of swimming and venturing into the sea during the period from last June until next November due to sea fluctuations and seasonal disturbances.
