Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Mohsen al-Daari revealed the Houthi group's involvement in expanding recruitment activities by bringing in elements from the Somali al-Shabaab group, along with African migrants, noting that this step represents a dangerous level of cooperation between the Houthis and extremist organizations. He also renewed his accusation against Iran of continuing to supply the group with weapons and drugs. The minister's statements came during his meeting in Aden with the Senior British Military Advisor in the Middle East, Admiral Edward Graham, in the presence of the British Military Attaché to Yemen, Colonel Paddy Williams. Al-Daari affirmed that strengthening the capabilities of the Yemeni army has become an urgent necessity to ensure the protection of international waterways and the stability of the region, explaining that completing the restoration of the state is the main gateway to confronting Houthi threats. The two sides discussed developments in the military and security situation in Yemen, the ongoing threats posed by the Houthi group to international navigation and neighboring countries, as well as ways to enhance defense cooperation between Yemen and the United Kingdom.
