The 11th session of the Dialogue Conference between Arab and Chinese Civilizations began today in the Chinese capital, Beijing, with the participation of a Yemeni delegation headed by the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah Abu Al-Ghaith. In Yemen's speech during the opening, Abu Al-Ghaith stressed the importance of dialogue as a tool to enhance knowledge exchange and consolidate human ties between peoples, pointing to its role in establishing the foundations of mutual understanding and building wider areas for cooperation. Abu Al-Ghaith addressed the challenges facing Yemen as a result of the violations committed by the Houthi group, including killing, kidnapping, and displacement of millions of civilians, which he said pose a threat to Yemen, the region, and the security of international navigation, despite the government's continued commitment to supporting peace efforts. He also reviewed the depth of the historical relations between Yemen and China, which date back more than two thousand years since the flourishing of the Silk Road, calling for their continued development in a way that enhances the interests of the two countries. The Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council expressed Yemen's appreciation to the League of Arab States, the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and all countries that continue to support the institutions of the Yemeni state and efforts to restore security and stability.
