The Kingdom of Bahrain will host, tomorrow, Thursday, the 19th periodic meeting of the Speakers of the Shura, Representatives, National, and Ummah Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with the aim of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and integration and unifying legislative visions towards regional and international issues of common interest. The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) explained that the meeting will discuss strengthening cooperation between the Gulf parliaments and the European Parliament through the joint Gulf-European Parliamentary Committee. The meeting will also develop strategies to expand Gulf parliamentary cooperation at several levels with the parliaments of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Ukraine, in addition to the accession of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) as an observer.
