Yemen: Aden Central Bank warns of incitement campaigns and official entities targeting the obstruction of reforms. Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Central Bank of Yemen warned today, Tuesday, of incitement campaigns led by entities and individuals affiliated with some official agencies, which it said aim to undermine the banking sector and what has recently been achieved in positive indicators in the stability of the national currency. In an official statement, the bank explained that these illegal practices represent a direct threat to the national economy and the smooth flow of supply chains, in addition to their efforts to undermine the bank's independence and powers as the regulator and governor of the banking sector, stressing that their negative repercussions have appeared during the past two days. In context, the bank appreciated the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and their supportive stance towards it as the only legitimate entity recognized internationally, considering that this support enhances its ability to continue implementing economic reforms despite the existing challenges. The Central Bank renewed its call to the concerned authorities to assume their responsibilities in stopping these abuses, warning of the danger of the continuation of smear campaigns targeting the financial and banking sector and threatening monetary and economic stability in the country.
